Nightmares

With the dreamscapes so vivid, and the nights i wake up with chills and fear, the times when i am hurt and the pain lingers long after i awake, i cant help but wonder. And hope that the next time i drift into sleep, such terrible creatures dont invade my world, clawing and dragging and nashing their teeth. Hope that the next time i do not die again, and feel the empty, hollow, nothingness that i feel each time i am eaten alive. Hope that i dont have to deal with the lingering pain of being shot or stabbed by a stranger. Hope that it will be the last time i see one of the people i love die, being dragged into the darkness never to be seen again. But hope doesnt do anything, it can not kill a beast, or make you forget. Hope can not help you across a dark hallway. Hope can not stop the nightmares. The nightmares are not all that bad though, they have meaning, and can tell a story. How you interpret them makes all the difference, and all the stories i can tell, incrypting my dreamscapes and nuturing my imagination. I have turned something unfortunate into a good thing, and i entertain my friends with the stories they tell-whether they know it or not.
